Perform Recruitment is hiring on behalf of our client, a well-established, family-owned European logistics operator with over 50 years of heritage. With a fleet of 80+ trucks and 120 trailers, they deliver service-driven road freight solutions across the Benelux region from offices in the Netherlands and the UK.
We are seeking an experienced Road Freight Operator to join their Manchester operations team.
The Role
Reporting to the Operations Manager, you'll play a key role in managing European road freight movements within a busy, fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Handling pricing requests, quotations, and daily bookings
- Managing high volumes of emails and calls
- Coordinating collections and deliveries with the Netherlands team
- Reviewing commercial invoices and qualifying bookings before processing
- Advising customers on shipping terms (including DAP/DDP)
- Ensuring accurate data input and invoicing
This is a high-volume role, so strong organisation and attention to detail are essential.
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience in European road freight operations (essential)
- Clear understanding of an operator role (not purely forwarding)
- Ability to manage a heavy workload in a fast-paced setting
- Knowledge of Customs processes and documentation requirements
- A driving licence is preferred due to the location
