The Opportunity
As a Business Development Executive, you will take ownership of developing new business opportunities across the North West, offering tailored freight and logistics solutions across multiple transport modes. This is a hybrid role aligned to a Manchester office, with a strong emphasis on client‑facing activity and regional travel.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify, target, and secure new business opportunities across the region
- Build, manage, and convert a strong sales pipeline
- Develop an in‑depth understanding of client needs to offer tailored logistics solutions
- Maintain and grow relationships with existing clients
- Conduct regular face‑to‑face meetings (minimum 3 days per week)
- Accurately track activity and opportunities within the CRM system
- Negotiate commercial terms while ensuring minimal risk to the business
- Collaborate with internal teams and international partners to deliver solutions
- Prepare sales reports, forecasts, and pipeline analysis
- Carry out due diligence on prospective clients
What We’re Looking For
- Minimum 2 years' experience in a business development or sales role (freight/logistics preferred)
- Strong knowledge of import/export and multimodal transport operations
- Proven ability to generate new business and achieve targets
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
- Right to work in the UK
