Position Summary: Sujan Pilli, Manager of the Professional Services team at Perforce is searching for a Principal Professional Services Engineer to join the team. You will lead complex solution deployments, mentor other engineers, and act as a trusted technical advisor for strategic customer engagements. This is a senior hands-on delivery role for someone who combines deep technical expertise with strong customer-facing skills, enabling you to design, implement, and optimize sophisticated Delphix solutions in enterprise environments.

You will bridge the gap between individual project execution and broader architectural strategy, collaborating closely with Enterprise Architects, Product Management, and Engineering to ensure customer success and repeatable best practices.

Responsibilities:

  • Solution Leadership – Lead the design and delivery of complex Delphix deployments across on-premises, hybrid, and multi-cloud environments
  • Customer Engagement – Serve as the primary technical point of contact for customers during implementation, guiding them through configuration, integration, and optimization
  • Technical Authority – Provide deep expertise in databases, storage, networking, and automation as they relate to Delphix deployments
  • Implementation Excellence – Translate business and technical requirements into actionable designs and execution plans, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and to high quality standards
  • Mentorship & Enablement – Coach and mentor Professional Services Engineers on technical delivery, solution design, and troubleshooting approaches
  • Best Practices Development – Create and maintain technical playbooks, automation scripts, and repeatable delivery frameworks
  • Problem Resolution – Lead troubleshooting for critical deployment issues, engaging with Product Engineering and Support teams as needed
  • Pre-Sales Collaboration – Partner with sales and solution engineering teams in scoping, estimation, and proof-of-concept activities
  • Continuous Feedback Loop – Provide customer-driven insights to Product Management to guide product enhancements

Requirements:

  • 8+ years of experience in Professional Services, Solutions Engineering, or similar technical consulting roles
  • Strong expertise in at least one enterprise database platform (Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, etc.) including backup, recovery, replication, and performance optimization
  • Hands-on experience deploying solutions in AWS, Azure, or GCP environments
  • Proficiency in scripting or automation (Python, Bash, PowerShell, or similar)
  • Familiarity with enterprise networking concepts, storage technologies, and security/compliance frameworks (GDPR, HIPAA, CCPA, etc.)
  • Strong troubleshooting and performance tuning skills across database, OS, and infrastructure layers
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work effectively with both technical and business stakeholders
  • Fluency in French is a strong plus
