Role Overview
PerfectTed is looking for a Technical & Quality Executive to support the Technical & Quality Lead in maintaining and improving product quality, food safety standards, and technical documentation across our matcha supply chain. This is an excellent opportunity for someone early in their career who is passionate about food quality, analytical work, and continuous improvement. You’ll help ensure every gram of our matcha meets the highest standards by working closely with co‑manufacturers and suppliers to maintain safety, compliance, and consistency.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct routine quality checks on incoming matcha, packaging materials, and finished goods
- Perform sensory evaluations (colour, aroma, texture, taste)
- Assist in batch release, retain sample management, and sample analysis
- Support non‑conformance investigations and corrective actions
- Maintain product specifications and technical data sheets
- Assist in updating SOPs and quality manuals
- Help manage traceability systems and recall documentation
- Ensure compliance with food safety standards (e.g., BRC, SALSA, ISO 22000, local regulatory requirements)
- Assist in reviewing COAs, allergen statements, and regulatory documentation from partners
- Maintain up‑to‑date records of certifications, product specifications, and audit findings
- Assist in collecting, analysing, and reporting quality metrics from suppliers and co‑manufacturers
- Support onboarding of new co‑manufacturers, including documentation checks and initial assessments
- Support trial batches or product adjustments conducted by production partners
Requirements
- 2–3 years’ experience working within a Technical function
- High microbiological knowledge
- Highly organised, independent, and strong follow‑through
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Apps, Notion, Google Drive, and Excel
- Experience working with certification or customer standards
- Knowledge of UK and EU Food & Drink Labelling Legislation
- Experience in beverage or plant‑based manufacturing
