Founded in 2021, we’ve grown from a kitchen-table startup to a £50M run rate in just three years, with products now stocked in 30,000+ stores across 50+ countries. Recently named the Fastest-Growing Founder-Led Business in the UK (FEBE Growth 100, 2025), we are building towards becoming the world’s first billion-dollar matcha brand.
Role Overview
Packaging is at the heart of PerfectTed. We are looking for a Mid-Weight Graphic Designer with strong packaging capability and real-world production awareness — someone who doesn’t just make things look good, but understands how they get made, scaled, and shipped. You will play a key role in:
- This role sits at the intersection of design, product, and operations. Some weeks you’ll be deep in packaging development. Others you’ll be turning around retail assets, campaigns, or social content at speed.
What Makes This Role Different
This is not just a design role. You will act as a bridge between creative vision and packaging reality, working closely with suppliers and internal teams to ensure everything you design:
- can actually be manufactured
- performs in the real world
- hits cost and quality targets
Key Responsibilities
- Packaging Design & Development (Core Focus)
- Lead and support packaging design across pouches, cans, pods, and new formats
- Work confidently with dielines, cutter guides, and print specifications
- Deliver production-ready artwork (not just concepts)
- Translate brand vision into packaging that works on shelf and at scale
- Packaging Performance & Production Awareness
- Design with real‑world constraints in mind: durability (shipping, handling)
- Work closely with suppliers to refine, iterate, and approve packaging outputs
- Develop a working understanding of materials and formats (e.g., laminates, flexible packaging, labels, cartons)
- Brand Consistency
- Maintain PerfectTed’s visual identity across all touchpoints
- Ensure coherence across packaging, campaigns, digital, and retail assets
- Work cross‑functionally with marketing, ops, and founders
- Communicate clearly with suppliers and internal teams
- Keep projects moving quickly and stakeholders aligned
- Speed & Execution
- Operate in a fast‑moving environment with tight deadlines
- Deliver high‑quality work quickly (often same‑day / next‑day)
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously
An expectation in this role is a strong working knowledge of how packaging is actually produced, not just designed. You should be comfortable with:
- Preparing artwork for print: bleed, overprint, trapping, export settings
- Working with dielines, cutter guides, die‑cut and laser‑cut formats
- Understanding packaging formats and applications: cans, cartons, and wraps
- Awareness of production methods: digitally printed vs large‑scale production
- A working understanding of materials and specifications, including: paper/card thickness (GSM)
Most importantly: you design things that hold up in production, not just on screen.
Requirements
Must-Haves
- 2+ years of design experience with strong packaging exposure
- Strong understanding of print and production processes
- Ability to work quickly without sacrificing detail
- Highly organised, proactive, and accountable
Nice-to-Haves
- Experience in FMCG or high‑growth consumer brands
- Exposure to packaging materials, suppliers, or manufacturing processes
- Understanding of cost, scalability, or sustainability considerations
The Type of Person This Suits
- You care about how things look and how they’re made
- You get frustrated when great designs fail in production
- You think beyond the screen — into factories, shelves, and customers’ hands
- You enjoy moving fast and figuring things out
What We Offer
- Competitive package including equity (EMI options)
- Career development budget (courses, coaching, tools)
- Stunning Shoreditch office with high‑energy team
