About PerfectTed

PerfectTed is looking for a Senior Quality & Technical Manager – a calm, detail-obsessed operator who will own quality, safety, and compliance across our full product range. As the UK's fastest-growing energy drink brand and Europe's leading matcha company, PerfectTed is redefining what energy should feel like: clean, matcha-powered focus with no crashes and no junk.

In this role, you'll be the guardian of trust in every can and every sachet. You'll lead our technical function, manage one direct report, and build the systems and standards that will future-proof PerfectTed as we continue to scale at speed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead on quality, safety, and legality across our full product portfolio
  • Own compliance with BRCGS Food Safety, HACCP, and UK/EU regulations
  • Ensure every product and ingredient meets the highest standards of consumer trust
  • Act as the senior technical contact with manufacturers and suppliers
  • Drive issue resolution, non-conformance management, and continuous improvement
  • Maintain up-to-date product specifications, supplier approvals, and quality requirements
  • Lead investigations into non-conformances and customer complaints
  • Escalate potential food safety issues and drive swift, effective resolution
  • Build robust systems to prevent issues before they arise
  • Manage, mentor, and develop one direct report
  • Set the technical standards and ways of working for the function
  • Grow the team's capability as PerfectTed scales
  • Provide senior technical input during NPD, flagging safety, quality, and processing risks early
  • Build systems and processes that scale with a fast-growing business
  • Raise the bar on technical standards across the company

Requirements

  • Degree in Food Science, Food Technology, or a related field
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a food manufacturing or technical environment
  • Strong working knowledge of BRCGS Food Safety, HACCP, and UK/EU food legislation
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Proactive approach to quality and risk management
  • Full right to work in the UK

Nice-to-Haves

  • Experience in beverage manufacturing or FMCG brands
  • Exposure to startup or high-growth environments
  • Auditing qualifications or training in advanced food safety standards
