The Dimensional Variation Analysis Lead Engineer will be responsible for leading and conducting dimensional variation analysis to ensure the precision and quality of the products. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify, analyse, and mitigate dimensional variation issues throughout the product development and manufacturing processes. The role requires being onsite at the customer's location 5 days a week.
AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY
- Lead and perform dimensional variation analysis using 3DCS (v7.8) tools.
- Develop and implement strategies to control and reduce dimensional variation in products and processes.
- Collaborate with design, manufacturing, and quality teams to identify potential sources of variation and recommend corrective actions.
- Create and maintain detailed documentation of analysis results, methodologies, and corrective actions.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and team members.
- Conduct root cause analysis for dimensional variation issues and implement effective solutions.
- Support the development and validation of measurement systems and inspection processes.
- Participate in design reviews and provide input on dimensional tolerances and specifications.
- Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in dimensional analysis techniques and tools.
Knowledge/Experience
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience in dimensional variation analysis or a related role.
- Proficiency in statistical analysis software (e.g., Minitab, JMP) and CAD software (e.g., CATIA, SolidWorks).
- Strong understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) principles.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and lead cross-functional projects.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes and quality control methodologies.
- Software skills: 3DCS (v7.8), Vis VSA.
