Perfect Recruitment are currently supporting a busy and stylish Bar & Restaurant in Manchester City Centre who are seeking an experienced Acting General Manager to join their team on an initial 3-month temporary booking, with the potential for the position to become permanent for the right person. This is an exciting opportunity to step into a well-established, high-volume venue with a strong team already in place. The successful candidate will provide leadership, operational support and ensure the continued delivery of excellent service standards across the business. The venue offers a vibrant and fast-paced environment, ideal for an experienced hospitality manager who enjoys leading teams and driving operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Leading, motivating and developing the existing team
- Overseeing the smooth day-to-day operation of the venue
- Maintaining consistently high standards of customer service
- Managing rotas, team performance and operational requirements
- Monitoring stock levels, ordering and stock control procedures
- Supporting cost control and commercial performance
- Ensuring company standards, processes and procedures are followed
- Handling customer feedback and resolving any issues professionally
- Working closely with the management team to maintain a positive venue culture
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for an experienced hospitality professional with a strong background in management, ideally within a busy bar, restaurant, café, or similar high-volume environment. You will have:
- Previous experience operating at General Manager, Deputy General Manager, Assistant Manager or similar level
- Strong leadership and people management skills
- Experience managing teams within a fast-paced hospitality setting
- Good understanding of stock control, ordering and operational procedures
- Excellent customer service skills with a commercial mindset
- The ability to quickly adapt and take ownership of a venue
The Package
- £17.00–£18.00 per hour
- Additional service charge
- Initial 3-month temporary assignment
- Potential to transition into a permanent role
- Predominantly retail-style working hours
- Venue closing at approximately 9pm
