Head Chef – Destination Pub & Events Venue

Location: Colne, Lancashire

Salary: £40,000 + Bonus & Tronc

The Opportunity: A well-established destination pub and events venue with rooms is seeking a commercially strong Head Chef. With a fully fresh menu and a busy events calendar including weddings, private functions, banquets, and buffets, this site is set for investment and growth. The larger group is aiming to elevate the offering to a very high standard, enhancing the premium destination experience. This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned Head Chef or a capable Sous Chef ready for their first Head Chef appointment to take full ownership of a stable, well-run kitchen.

Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day kitchen operations, maintaining exceptional standards and reliable service across both the pub menu and event catering.
  • Oversee menu development, GP management, stock control, and supplier relationships.
  • Deliver high-quality catering for weddings, events, and buffets.
  • Recruit, train, and motivate a small, dedicated kitchen team.
  • Ensure full compliance with food safety, hygiene, and health & safety standards.
  • Collaborate with management on growth plans and food-led initiatives.

About You

  • Experienced Head Chef or senior Sous Chef with a strong background in fresh food, high-volume pub dining, and events.
  • Commercially savvy with experience managing GP, stock, wastage, and rotas.
  • Confident in creating specials and seasonal menu additions.
  • Hands-on leader, able to build and maintain a stable, efficient kitchen.
  • Organised, calm, and consistent under pressure.
