The Role
As a Fire & Security Design Engineer, you'll play a key role in the design and estimating of Fire & Security systems from initial enquiry through to quotation. You'll be responsible for designing practical, compliant solutions and producing accurate costings for a wide range of projects. Systems include:
- Fire Alarm Systems
- CCTV Systems
- Access Control Systems
- Intruder Alarm Systems
Key responsibilities:
- Designing Fire & Security systems to meet client requirements
- Producing accurate estimates and quotations
- Reviewing drawings, specifications and tender documents
- Creating system layouts and technical documentation
- Preparing technical submissions and proposals
- Liaising with clients, suppliers, project managers and engineers
- Ensuring designs comply with relevant industry standards
- Providing technical support throughout the project lifecycle
What We're Looking For
Essential
- Previous experience within the Fire & Security industry
- Experience designing Fire Alarm, CCTV, Access Control and Intruder Alarm systems
- Ability to interpret specifications and client requirements
- AutoCAD experience
- Experience producing estimates and quotations
- Strong technical understanding of Fire & Security systems
- Good commercial awareness
- Ability to work independently and manage your own workload
Desirable
- Experience using Simpro or similar software
- Knowledge of BS5839, NSI, SSAIB and relevant industry standards
- Experience supporting junior team members
