The Role

As a Fire & Security Design Engineer, you'll play a key role in the design and estimating of Fire & Security systems from initial enquiry through to quotation. You'll be responsible for designing practical, compliant solutions and producing accurate costings for a wide range of projects. Systems include:

  • Fire Alarm Systems
  • CCTV Systems
  • Access Control Systems
  • Intruder Alarm Systems

Key responsibilities:

  • Designing Fire & Security systems to meet client requirements
  • Producing accurate estimates and quotations
  • Reviewing drawings, specifications and tender documents
  • Creating system layouts and technical documentation
  • Preparing technical submissions and proposals
  • Liaising with clients, suppliers, project managers and engineers
  • Ensuring designs comply with relevant industry standards
  • Providing technical support throughout the project lifecycle

What We're Looking For

Essential

  • Previous experience within the Fire & Security industry
  • Experience designing Fire Alarm, CCTV, Access Control and Intruder Alarm systems
  • Ability to interpret specifications and client requirements
  • AutoCAD experience
  • Experience producing estimates and quotations
  • Strong technical understanding of Fire & Security systems
  • Good commercial awareness
  • Ability to work independently and manage your own workload

Desirable

  • Experience using Simpro or similar software
  • Knowledge of BS5839, NSI, SSAIB and relevant industry standards
  • Experience supporting junior team members
