General Manager – Café | Burnley (BB10) £36,000 – £40,000 + tips/bonus 40 hours | 5 days per week | 08:00–16:30 | No evenings
Must have driving licence (remote location)
We’re looking for a hands‑on General Manager to lead a recently refurbished, community-focused café that takes pride in great coffee, fresh food, and genuinely warm service. This isn’t a “head office box‑ticking” role — it’s about running the space day‑to‑day, leading from the floor, and building a team that actually cares about what they do.
What you’ll be doing:
- Running daily café operations and leading the team on shift
- Setting the standard for service, food quality, coffee and presentation
- Getting stuck in — this is a hands‑on leadership role, not an office job
- Managing stock, ordering, compliance, H&S and hygiene standards
- Driving a strong customer experience and handling feedback properly
- Supporting training, onboarding and development of the team
- Helping out with events, catering and occasional site support when needed
What we’re looking for:
- Background in café / restaurant / hospitality management
- Barista experience (coffee quality actually matters here)
- Confident, calm communicator who leads by example
- Strong organisational skills and commercial awareness
- Someone who can train, motivate and hold a team to standards
- Flexible, practical, and not afraid to roll sleeves up when needed
What you get:
- No late nights – sociable daytime hours only
- Real progression opportunities across a growing café group
- Proper training & development (hygiene, allergens, first aid, etc.)
- Free food & coffee on shift + discounts on days off
- Supportive, down‑to‑earth team culture — no ego environment
- Genuine scope to grow into multi‑site roles if you want it
This is a role for someone who wants ownership, variety, and a team they can actually build — not just manage from a distance.
