Our Financial Services client is seeking a senior Cloud Network Architect for an initial six-month engagement (with strong likelihood of extension) to lead the design of inter-cloud connectivity across AWS, Azure and their on-premise data centre. This is a genuinely architect-level role with real hands-on expectations — HLDs, LLDs, Terraform and CI/CD deliverables, not just slideware. The client has a mature, well-run Cisco/Nexus data centre and a strong in-house engineering team.
What you'll be doing:
- Architecting the inter-cloud networking design between AWS, Azure and the on-premise DC
- Producing high-quality HLDs and LLDs and seeing them through to deployment
- Reviewing the existing AWS and Azure networking estate, identifying gaps and recommending improvements
- Embedding Terraform and CI/CD into the network deliverables
- Working alongside an experienced in-house Cisco engineering team and Infrastructure Manager
What we need from you:
- Senior Network Architect with strong cloud weighting in recent work
- Hands-on AWS networking — VPC, Transit Gateway, Direct Connect, PrivateLink, multi-account
- Hands-on Azure networking — VNet, VWAN, ExpressRoute, Private Link, Azure Firewall
- Proven inter-cloud / hybrid connectivity design experience
- Terraform as a working practitioner — modules written and deployed
- CI/CD pipeline experience (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, GitLab or similar)
- Enough Cisco / data centre fluency to credibly engage with the engineering team on the cloud-DC interface
- Strong HLD / LLD documentation skills
Highly desirable:
- Prior financial services experience
- AWS Advanced Networking Specialty / Azure AZ-700 / Terraform certifications
- Backup architecture awareness
The package:
- 6 months initial, extension likely
- Outside IR35
- Fully remote, UK-based
- Start ASAP
Apply with an up-to-date CV and a brief note on your current availability and day rate expectation. Shortlisting immediately.
