We’re supporting a leading UK insurance organisation during a critical phase of platform stabilisation and technical debt reduction, and are looking for a hands-on Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to strengthen the team. This role has been created to provide dedicated technical support across Snowflake administration and cloud infrastructure provisioning, allowing the core team to stay focused on project delivery while you tackle platform reliability, automation, and technical debt. This is a practical, delivery-focused engineering position for someone who enjoys building and improving infrastructure properly.
Purpose
- Accumulated technical debt across cloud and Snowflake environments
- Operational risk if platforms aren’t hardened and automated
- Limited bandwidth to step away from projects to fix core issues
- A need for Snowflake infrastructure expertise + Terraform automation
Function
- Writing Terraform code daily to provision and standardise environments
- Translating HLDs into LLDs and deployable infrastructure
- Provisioning and administering Snowflake infrastructure, including:
- warehouses/computers
- roles & RBAC models
- secure networking/private endpoints
Tech environment
- Snowflake
- RBAC/IAM
Experience
- Terraform-first and comfortable provisioning full environments
- Has hosted/administered Snowflake from an infrastructure/platform perspective
- Understands RBAC, IAM and secure enterprise design
- Has experience in regulated/production environments
- Can operate independently with minimal oversight
- Enjoys fixing foundations and improving reliability
