A distinguished private couple are seeking an experienced and reliable Part-Time Chef to support their household in the prestigious Kensington area of London. The Principals are a well-travelled international couple who divide their time between London, New York, France, Lithuania, and Austria, and require a skilled Chef to prepare meals during their time in London – currently until the end of March, with full employment commencing in June.
The family has always employed private Chefs and values exceptional home cooking, discretion, and long-term commitment. Kensington is one of London's most sought-after neighbourhoods, offering beautiful architecture, world-class amenities, and excellent public transport links. The ideal candidate will be experienced in Slavic, Mediterranean, and Italian cuisines, comfortable with meal preparation in advance, and happy to work independently within a private household. Working Days: 2–3 days per week (Flexible)
Working Hours: Approximately 4–5 hours per day
Employment Basis: Self-Employed
Language: Fluent Russian and/or English (Hebrew a bonus but not required)
Salary: £25–£35 per hour gross (Negotiable depending on experience)
Location: Kensington, London W8
Starting Date: Immediate trial period with employment commencing June 2026
Duties Include:
- Preparing high-quality, home-cooked meals for two Principals, with an emphasis on Slavic cuisine (Lithuanian, Russian, Ukrainian dishes), Mediterranean, and Italian cooking
- Meal preparation in advance for 1–2 days, including soups, light dishes, and healthy meals
- Menu planning in accordance with the Principals' preferences and dietary requirements
- Avoiding specific ingredients as directed (onion, garlic, black pepper, hot spices such as paprika)
- Preparing dishes featuring white fish, fresh vegetables, and other healthy ingredients
- Maintaining the highest standards of kitchen hygiene and organisation
- Working within a professionally equipped kitchen with gas and induction hobs, oven, dishwarmer, and professional-grade equipment
- Sourcing and shopping for ingredients as required
- Adapting menus for occasional entertaining or guest visits
- Potential for international travel with the family in the future (Europe and USA)
Minimal Requirements:
- Three or more years of private Chef experience
- Two excellent, checkable references
- Fluent Russian and/or English
- Valid UK work permit
- Experience in Slavic, Mediterranean, and Italian cuisines
