Perfect Household Staff is proud to present a charming new part-time Housekeeper/Cook position based in Hertfordshire—a well-connected and desirable location surrounded by greenery, with excellent access to schools, family amenities, and beautiful countryside walks.
This is an awesome opportunity for a friendly, and flexible housekeeper/cook who is confident managing household routines independently and preparing healthy, family-style meals. The property is a spacious, contemporary family home spread over two floors with four bedrooms, two bathrooms, including a large kitchen-diner.
The family consists of two working parents and their two children (aged nearly 4 and 6), both of whom will be at nursery or school during working hours. This is an informal and welcoming household, and the clients are looking for someone who will not only keep things running smoothly but will genuinely fit in and become a trusted and appreciated presence in the home.
The position requires housekeeping, light cooking, and occasional household admin, such as booking children's activities or coordinating with tradespeople. A successful candidate will be child-friendly, practical, efficient, and enjoy working with minimal supervision.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Daily tidying throughout the home, including children's clothes, toys, and shared spaces
- General housekeeping and cleaning duties, including hoovering, dusting, and maintaining hygiene standards
- Laundry and linen care using eco-friendly products
- Preparing simple, healthy lunches for parents and evening meals for children (no dietary restrictions, but high-protein and balanced)
- Cooking light family meals to be stored or frozen, as needed
- Occasional ad-hoc errands or tasks such as coordinating contractors, booking children's activities, or simple organisational support
- Following family preferences regarding product use (eco laundry, special care on quartz worktops)
Minimum Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in private households or boutique hospitality
- Excellent checkable references
- Kind, friendly, and proactive personality with strong common sense
- Ability to adapt and vary routines week to week
- Comfortable working in an informal setting and around children
- UK work permit
