Perfect Household Staff are delighted to support a warm and approachable family based in Holmes Chapel in their search for a professional and experienced Housekeeper to manage their home to a high standard. The family is moving to a newly built property and is seeking a polished domestic professional with proven experience in household management, who can confidently take ownership of day-to-day housekeeping, laundry, and light food preparation.

This is a permanent, long-term, live-out position, ideally suited to an organised and self-motivated Housekeeper who is comfortable working independently while remaining flexible to support the household during special occasions. The role offers a balanced working pattern, with the family currently considering a four-day working week to allow mutual privacy, as one of the principals works from home.

The household consists of two parents and three children aged 16, 10, and 6 (with the eldest at boarding school), along with a small, calm Italian breed dog. The environment is relaxed, respectful, and well-structured.

Position: Permanent, Full-Time, Live-Out

Location: Holmes Chapel, Cheshire, UK

Working Schedule: 4 days/week

Hours: 25-30 hours per week

Duties:

• Take full responsibility for the smooth day-to-day management of the household, applying proven experience as a professional private housekeeper
• Maintain the home to a consistently high standard, including thorough cleaning, care of all living areas, and attention to detail
• Manage all aspects of laundry, including washing, ironing, and general organisation of household linens and clothing
• Assist with food preparation and light cooking as required, supporting the family’s daily routine
• Ensure the kitchen and key household areas remain clean, organised, and well maintained
• Work on a part-time basis, ideally four days per week, respecting the family’s need for personal space while maintaining consistency
• Demonstrate flexibility to provide additional support during special occasions or when required by the household
• Operate with discretion and professionalism, particularly as the principal often works from home

A Candidate Profile:

• A minimum of three years’ proven experience working within a private household
• Excellent, checkable references from previous private employers
• Discreet, trustworthy, and comfortable working in a family environment with children present
• Confident working independently with strong organisational and time-management skills
• Fluent spoken English
• Valid enhanced DBS certificate, or willingness to obtain one prior to commencement
• Full, clean driving licence required
