A prestigious private household in Westminster, Central London, is seeking an experienced and highly capable Live‑Out Butler / Personal Assistant to provide an exceptional standard of personal and household service to the principal. The role involves formal service, household coordination, light meal preparation, and daily chauffeuring duties within London. A significant proportion of the role involves structured waiting and standby time between tasks and journeys, offering stability and a predictable working routine. The household offers an exceptional working environment, including access to private facilities such as a spa, gymnasium, swimming pool, and cinema. This is a long‑term position within a respectful and well‑structured household, offering opportunities for growth within a service‑led environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide refined front‑of‑house service, including formal table settings, dining service, and guest hosting to the highest standard.
- Prepare breakfast and light meals with care and consistency.
- Oversee household organisation and presentation, liaising closely with the Housekeeper to maintain immaculate standards throughout the residence.
- Drive the principal on a daily basis within London and occasionally further afield, ensuring punctuality and professionalism at all times.
- Maintain the principal’s vehicle to an exemplary standard.
- Manage wardrobe care, packing and unpacking for travel, and personal errands as required.
- Handle household inventory management and stock replenishment.
- Liaise with suppliers, tradespeople, and contractors as required, maintaining absolute confidentiality.
- Provide light Personal Assistant and household administrative support; note that the principal has a separate Executive Assistant for professional matters.
- Maintain strict discretion and professionalism at all times, in keeping with the standards of a high‑profile private household.
- Be available for structured standby and waiting time between journeys and tasks, as required by the nature of the role.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Butler or Personal Assistant in a private household.
- UK driving licence.
- Valid right to work in the United Kingdom.
- Ability to undergo an Enhanced DBS check.
- Two excellent, checkable references.
