Perfect Household Staff is pleased to present an excellent opportunity for a professional Housekeeper Cook to join a welcoming international family residing in an elegant four-floor residence in Belgravia, one of London’s most prestigious and beautiful neighbourhoods. The family consists of two adults and their two-year-old daughter and spends much of the year travelling internationally, using their London residence primarily during the summer months. They are seeking a hygienic, honest, and detail-oriented professional who takes pride in maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and organisation within the home.
Working as a Housekeeper Cook in a refined private household requires excellent attention to detail, discretion, and the ability to work collaboratively within a domestic team. In this role, the successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the property, with particular focus on the kitchen and the principals’ bedroom areas. Duties will include:
- Detailed housekeeping, laundry care, and the preparation of simple, healthy meals for the family, primarily steamed Western-style dishes.
- Working alongside an experienced housekeeper and a butler, ensuring the household runs smoothly and efficiently.
- Maintaining the cleanliness and organisation of the four-floor residence to a very high standard.
- Performing detailed housekeeping duties including dusting, vacuuming, sanitising surfaces, and maintaining hygienic conditions throughout the home.
- Managing all laundry responsibilities including washing, ironing, and proper garment care.
- Preparing healthy, simple family meals with an emphasis on steamed Western-style cuisine.
- Keeping the kitchen immaculate and organised at all times.
- Ensuring the principals’ bedroom and primary living areas are maintained with exceptional attention to detail.
- Supporting the household team and maintaining smooth communication with the experienced housekeeper and butler.
- Maintaining a child-friendly and respectful attitude towards the family’s two-year-old daughter.
- Ensuring supplies are well managed and household standards remain consistently high.
Requirements for this Full-Time Housekeeper Cook job:
- Three or more years of private housekeeper experience
- Two excellent checkable references
- Conversational English
- UK working permit
This is a live-in position with comfortable staff accommodation provided within the property. The successful candidate will be offered a private bedroom with an en-suite bathroom on the floor dedicated to staff accommodation, ensuring privacy and comfort. The family is open to accommodating a candidate who may wish to bring their child. A husband may also reside in the accommodation if he is employed by the family as part of a domestic couple arrangement, although this is not a requirement for the role.
