Friends of the Elderly (FotE) is a not-for-profit charity that has been caring for older people for over 120 years. We provide care homes, day care services and financial grants for people in need.

Position: Unit Manager (Clinical Lead) – permanent full time, 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday with occasional out-of-hours and weekend work.

Responsibilities

  • Provide professional guidance and leadership to the care and nursing teams.
  • Ensure the highest standards of clinical practice and resident well-being.
  • Oversee care delivery, maintain accurate records and liaise with external health professionals.
  • Deputise for the General Manager when required and support overall service management.
  • Analyse incidents, complete root-cause analysis reports and develop action plans.
  • Communicate effectively with staff and external partners on safeguarding and adult safeguarding issues.

Qualifications

  • Registered with a relevant body (e.g. NMC) and proven experience in a similar role within older people's care.
  • Good understanding of CQC regulations, the Health and Social Care Act and adult safeguarding.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Experience working with residents who require additional support.
