To support our growth and expansion, we’re looking for a Data Engineer with a strong Python and SQL background to build, maintain and support data pipelines, and to analyse and organise raw data for the production of reports across the business. This is a special opportunity to contribute to building a data landscape that will be a powerful differentiator for our growing bank.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Building, maintaining and supporting data pipelines (Python and SQL) to integrate disparate data sources.
  • Developing robust solutions to automate business and system processes; this is what drives efficiency and value.
  • Analysing and organising raw data to produce reports that influence critical business functions across the whole Bank.
  • Developing ways to enhance data quality – we’ll be reliant on the highest data quality we can achieve.
  • Evaluating and prioritising business needs and objectives, building rapid prototypes for iterative results and preparing data for prescriptive and predictive modelling working in conjunction with risk experts across the bank.

Your skills and experience:

  • Strong and proven experience gained in a similar role with a good knowledge of building data pipelines, Python, data warehousing, and SQL.
  • Technical expertise in analysing data, producing concise reporting structures, and being highly capable of owning the data landscape.
  • The ability to define data into measures that can be reported into PowerBI.
  • High proficiency in database design principles, normalisation, and data modelling.
  • Using JIRA in an agile environment.

Rewards & Benefits at Perenna:

  • Competitive salary and hybrid working.
  • 30 days of annual leave, with Public Holidays on top.
  • 10% employer contribution to your pension.
  • Fully comprehensive private healthcare cover for you and your family.
  • Security for life events through our Income Protection Scheme and our Life Assurance Plan.
  • Support through our confidential Employee Assistance Programme and access to fully trained Mental Health First Aiders.
  • Commitment to your development, with access to training and learning opportunities.
  • Cycle To Work bike loan scheme and Electric Vehicle lease scheme.

Our roles are hybrid. This means although we don’t expect you to be in the office every day, there are some things that are just better done together – in-person team training, collaborating on new processes and improvement to how we do things, informal chats and in-person get-togethers.

Things you should know:

  • Our selection processes are quick, but thorough.
  • We’re a regulated bank, so if you're successful, our pre-employment process will include ID verification, a DBS records check, adverse credit checks and employment history referencing.
  • All applicants need to be fully eligible to work in the UK without any restrictions.

Things that matter to us all:

The fantastic people we have here at Perenna come from a very wide range of backgrounds and communities, but we all share the same belief that mortgages should be better, and we all want to make that happen together. We’re passionate and proud of our unique proposition, our products and our mission. We collaborate and we support each other, and our culture is inclusive and open. Diversity of all kinds is valued and respected here, and whatever your background, your voice will be heard.
