Overview
We are looking for an Instrument & Controls Commissioning Engineer to join our dynamic team at our Wytch Farm oilfield near Corfe Castle, Wareham, Dorset. You will be working within a multi-disciplined team to safely and cost effectively deliver projects and modifications from concept to operation of new and implementing into legacy systems from an Instrument and Control perspective.
The role will involve design work and commissioning of:
- A full range of instrumentation, Pressure, Temperature, Level, and Flow, in addition to Pneumatic and Hydraulic Control Systems.
- Distributed Control Systems, Safety Systems, Fire & Gas Systems, Flow Measurement Systems.
Working hours are Monday to Friday, based on site at Wytch Farm.
Responsibilities
- Form part of a multi-discipline team for HAZOP and LOPA studies.
- To work with other disciplines to develop project requirements from concept.
- Producing documentation such as loop sheets, functional design specifications, cross patch schedules, instrument data sheets, functional test procedures and control panel drawings etc.
- Leading a team to complete commissioning activities and ensuring quality assurance.
- Liaising with and managing key third party contractors.
- Ensuring all instrumentation and control aspects meet all relevant site and international standards.
- To follow the requirements of Change Management policies e.g. Plant Modifications Proposals.
- To actively participate in the site safety initiative, via safety conversations/observations.
- Ensure Health, Safety and Environmental requirements are adhered to and actively promoted at all times.
Qualifications & Experience
- Hold an accredited degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
- Previous experience in the Oil & Gas Industry is desirable although applications from a related industry will be considered.
- Experience working with ATEX equipment (Compex Trained) is desirable but not essential.
- Experience of Functional Safety IEC61511 is desired but not essential.
- Experience of Operational Technology cyber security is desired but not essential.
- Team player, clear written and verbal communicator with the ability to build relationships quickly with internal and external stakeholders.
- Self-motivated and a solutions-focused mindset with clear ownership of duties.
- Valid UK driving license.
