The predicted salary is between 36000 - 60000 £ per year.
This is an integral position within our Operations Team where you will be based onshore at our Dimlington Terminal working 7 days on, 7 days off, 12-hour shifts. This position will promote, develop and maintain a Health, Safety and Environmentally (HSE) aware Asset using combined specialist knowledge of team members. You will have responsibility to coach staff to ensure their compliance with Perenco’s HSE aspirations.
Key Responsibilities
- To provide comprehensive HSE support to the site, to include:
- Monitoring, audit and assurance of work control processes
- Working with and coaching of operational staff to maintain and improve HSE performance
- Occupational Health Assurance (Manual Handling, COSHH, Noise, HAVS, Asbestos)
- Radiation Protection Supervisor (Desirable)
- Ensure all duties relating to Occupational Health Hygiene and Safety are carried out effectively and efficiently.
HSE Performance
- Act as point of contact for all HSE issues and support for the site, to include:
- Regulations, policies, plans and reports (internal and external)
- Carry out induction and orientation training for new starts and visitors. Communicate and implement Perenco UK Ltd HSE policies, site standards and objectives, management arrangements, and contribute to HSE performance, as a position holder and as an individual.
- Administration and reporting on progress relating to the Perenco Observational Safety Technique (POST). Maintain records and produce reports. Coach and engage the crew.
- To provide health, safety and environmental advice in all matters relating to Planned Shutdowns, Vessel outages, Tank entry, etc.
- An active member of all risk assessment discussions.
- Support safety meetings to ensure key HSE issues are communicated.
- Deliver and coach others on the commitments in QSSHE plans.
- Have a good knowledge of the external regulations, approved codes of practice and all areas of HSE work on the platform e.g. PUWER.
- Familiarise with the site COMAH Report
- Document custodian, act as subject matter expert (SME) and maintain technical accuracy of specific controlled documents.
Training
- Support personnel where required on systems such as Management of Incidents, Action Tracking, COSHH database, Asbestos, Permit to Work etc.
- Support site personnel and coach where required on the Perenco Observational Safety Technique, Tool Box Talks / Pre-Job Safety Meeting.
- Support Safety Reps in the delivery of continuous safety performance and setting their own HSE objectives
- Auditing & Investigations
Emergency Response
- Support the preparation and practice of emergency exercises, testing against ERP procedures.
- Supervision of radiological work for Perenco UK Ltd activities as the nominated 'Radiation Protection Supervisor'. Organise the transportation and cleaning or disposal of LSA contaminated equipment and maintain records.
- Act as coordinator of Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) activities and waste management
Environmental
- Undertake environmental inspections and compliance assurance
- Act as site focal point for the operation of the environmental elements of the EMS covered by Perenco’s ISO 14001 certification
- Act as focal point for all environmental issues
- Work closely with the onshore Environmental Specialist
Qualifications/Experience
- Experience in a UK regulatory framework, including delivery of regulatory requirements
- NEBOSH Health & Safety Certificate (Diploma Preferred)
- Occupational Hygiene Qualifications (Core modules in Asbestos, COSHH, Noise, Vibration), preferred but not essential
- Radiation Protection Supervisor, preferred but not essential
- Environmental Knowledge (UK Legal Requirements), preferred but not essential
- Risk Assessment, incident investigation and auditing skills
- Reporting and presenting skills (Written & Verbal)
