This is an excellent opportunity to join Perenco’s Maintenance Team at Wytch Farm, Dorset. The role is responsible for providing day-to-day mechanical engineering support across the asset, including leading the Mechanical Technician Team to deliver a safe, efficient, and reliable maintenance service. The successful candidate will also contribute to the development and implementation of the long-term mechanical infrastructure strategy for the asset.

This is a Mon-Friday office role based on-site.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Work with the technician team to plan and safely deliver the asset work schedule
  • Liaise with technicians, contractors and others to ensure efficient execution of maintenance and minor modification work
  • Co-ordinate the engineering review and approval of plant modifications
  • Plan and deliver minor mechanical projects / minor modification work as required
  • Analyse plant breakdowns and implement actions for improved performance; specify modifications to plant equipment and systems.
  • Manage the effectiveness of equipment maintenance strategies.
  • Review and optimise inventory requirements for mechanical equipment. Manage non-inventory procurement requirements including specification of equipment.
  • Support the training and development of technicians.

There are a number of Safety Critical Tasks that you will be made aware of and systems you will be required to competently operate.

Key Requirements Include:

Skills and Competencies:

  • Broad experience with mechanical equipment in a hazardous process industry including
    • Rotating Equipment (including pumps, compressors, engines, gearboxes) and their associated sealing and lube oil systems
    • Hydraulic and Pneumatic systems.
    • Piping systems, including PSVs, valves, filters and associated equipment
    • Pressure systems, including vessels, exchangers and associated equipment
  • Proficient in the application of the principles of risk assessment and process safety management
  • High standards of workmanship, attention to detail and concern for accuracy.
  • Proven team-working and influencing skills.
  • Able to take strategic leadership role for assigned responsibilities.
  • Able to communicate effectively at all levels within the organisation.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Technical competence within a mechanical engineering discipline, recognised apprenticeship, or equivalent technical qualification (HND preferred)
  • Ten years relevant experience, at least five years within a petrochemical environment
