This is an exciting development opportunity to be part of our Training and Competence Assurance team based in Norwich. This position forms a key role in the ongoing operation of the Company’s Competence Management System (CMS), as well as the continuous review of this system, across Perenco UK. This role will work as part of the Competence Assurance Team, a subset of the HR Team, to ensure all aspects of the new CMS are communicated, through all levels of the organisation and at all locations, to ensure changes are fully integrated with business operations. This position will work closely with the HR and QSSHE Teams, to ensure the CMS and wider management of competence remain aligned to the Perenco Learning & Development Policy and for the Management of Safety Critical Competencies. This role is based in our Norwich office working Monday-Friday, there may be the occasional requirement to visit other Perenco sites.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Assist in the implementation of changes to the Perenco UK Competence Management System (CMS), across all sites / locations and affected roles
- Take responsibility for the integration of these changes across operations, through close monitoring (visits to site(s)) and intervention where required
- To act as an ‘Internal Verifier’ role within the scheme, sampling and auditing assessments / assessors during visits to site
- Assist in the continual development / evolution of the CMS, through feedback on implementation from the worksite
- Assist in the monitoring of all ‘core’ positions across the business, both staff and contractor, assisting to define which roles are safety critical and fall within the parameters/scope of the system
- Responsible for the collection and sharing of competency performance data, working with local management to ensure regulatory, quality, and internal standards are met around personnel competency
- Work with the HR Team to cover all activities associated with the CMS
- Work with the HR and QSSHE Teams (and local management/subject experts), to develop competency roles and supporting standards for positions/areas of the business not yet captured by the CMS
- Plan and execute interventions in areas of the business where CMS compliance falls below corporate performance standards
- Provide local training, direction and support to Assessors, through active interactions with stakeholders before, during, and after CMS rollout
- Deputise for the Lead Competence Assurance Advisor where and when required
Qualifications / Experience / Personal Attributes:
- Ability to build strong internal and external business relationships
- Ability to work independently and rapidly demonstrate working knowledge of Competency Assurance
- Lead projects with little supervision
- Ability to influence and drive change
- This role will involve limited travel to other Perenco onshore and offshore sites
