Perenco is looking for a Development Geologist to join the Geoscience department in London. The successful candidate will work closely with other geoscientists to generate drilling opportunities and provide geological expertise on field development. Perenco seeks individuals who thrive in environments offering substantial individual autonomy. The role provides significant freedom to operate alongside opportunities to acquire new skills through on-the-job learning, with specific formal training courses available where required.
Tasks and Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality geological input to projects, with a primary focus on development acreage.
- Collaborate and integrate closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure alignment across all geological workstreams.
- As a generalist, apply and administer all necessary and standard geological techniques and methods including sedimentology, well correlations, log analysis, sequence stratigraphy, property mapping and geological model building.
- Coordinate and supervise specialized geological projects conducted by third parties (e.g. biostratigraphy, sedimentology, geochemical analysis, log processing and analysis).
- Identify and recommend new well and workover opportunities, and provide operational geological support throughout drilling activities.
- Maintain comprehensive and accurate documentation of all work, including activities, interpretations, and datasets.
- Liaise and engage with technical partners and subject matter experts, presenting findings and results in workshops and Technical Committee meetings.
Qualifications and Experience
- BSc & MSc in Geology, or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years industry experience.
- Proficient with various industry software packages including Petrel.
- Collaborative and team oriented.
- Highly motivated with excellent communication skills.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Knowledge of petrophysics is a plus.
