The role
We're looking for an experienced SC Cleared Senior PMO Support Officer to join a high-profile programme environment supporting the successful delivery of complex business and technology change initiatives.
You'll play a pivotal role in ensuring projects are governed effectively, financials are managed accurately, reporting is insightful, and programme managers receive the support they need to deliver strategic outcomes.
This is an excellent opportunity for an organised, proactive PMO professional who enjoys working across multiple workstreams, influencing stakeholders and driving continuous improvement within a mature project delivery environment.
Responsibilities
- Support Programme and Project Managers across multiple complex change initiatives.
- Produce and maintain project plans, RAID logs, governance documentation and project reporting.
- Monitor project performance, analysing progress and challenging where appropriate.
- Track KPIs, resource utilisation, capacity and capability across programmes.
- Support budget management, financial forecasting and project controls.
- Organise governance boards, prepare meeting packs, record actions and provide secretariat support.
- Coordinate change control processes and ensure adherence to governance standards.
- Act as a key point of contact during Project Manager absence where required.
- Mentor junior PMO colleagues and contribute to the continuous improvement of the PMO community.
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders across business and technology teams.
Skills & Experience
- Previous experience working within a PMO supporting large, complex business and IT programmes.
- Active Security Clearance highly advantageous
- Strong experience producing high-quality project documentation, reports, presentations and briefing papers.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and provide meaningful recommendations.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the confidence to engage stakeholders at all levels.
- Ability to challenge constructively whilst maintaining positive working relationships.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise competing demands.
- Experience mentoring or coaching colleagues.
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills, including Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Project.
- A proactive, organised and collaborative approach to work.
- Experience using enterprise PPM tools such as Planview, Changepoint or Oracle.
- Professional Project Management qualifications such as PRINCE2, MSP, P3O, APM PMQ, PMP, PMI, M_o_R or PPSO.
- Experience working within highly governed programme delivery environments.
