The Role:
We are seeking a capable and resilient Project Manager to lead the delivery of a complex engineering solutions project within a broader offshore technology programme. This role involves managing eight critical deliverables, beginning with the accelerated design, build, and deployment of a key deck-based solution for the first offshore unit, followed by planning for the second unit. The successful candidate will coordinate across internal teams and external suppliers to ensure timely and high-quality outcomes.
This position is essential to stabilising a currently stalled project and introducing delivery discipline. We’re looking for someone who can bridge technical and stakeholder challenges.
Responsibilities:
Your main day to day responsibilities will be:
Delivery Oversight
- Ensure timely execution of priority deliverables, including interim workaround solutions for equipment handling and manual processing systems. As well as commercial-ready processing systems and laboratory container solutions.
- Collaborate with internal delivery leads and external suppliers to deliver automated handling systems, storage solutions and associated components
Project Planning & Execution
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans with clear milestones and critical paths.
- Drive action logs and RAID (Risks, Assumptions, Issues, Dependencies) logs to ensure proactive risk management.
- Manage scope and cost changes through a structured Change Request (CR) process.
- Operate effectively within a waterfall project delivery model.
Financial Management
- Work with stakeholders to define and approve budgets for each deliverable.
- Monitor and control budget vs actuals, ensuring financial discipline and alignment with forecasts.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Lead weekly project meetings to track progress and resolve issues.
- Act as the central point of coordination across regional teams and suppliers.
- Present solution scopes and interfaces to ensure end-to-end process alignment.
- Provide regular updates at the programme level to highlight schedule impacts.
- Coordinate with other project managers to manage dependencies.
- Manage challenging personalities and maintain strong stakeholder relationships.
Compliance & Quality
- Ensure all solutions undergo appropriate design approvals, safety assessments, and testing.
- Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to update plans and validate deliverables.
Skills & Experience:
You’ll have a demonstrable passion for delivery with the following skills or proven experience in:
- Approximately 4–5 years of project management experience in engineering or technical environments.
- Exposure to engineering disciplines (marine experience beneficial but not essential).
- Comfortable working with engineers and technical teams.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, including handling difficult personalities.
- Competence in planning, risk management, and supplier coordination.
- Experience with offshore equipment or deck-based systems.
- Familiarity with RAID and CR processes.
- Resilient and able to perform under pressure.
- Detail-oriented with the confidence to engage senior engineers and technical leads.
- Clear communicator with a proactive and structured approach to problem-solving.
