We are seeking an Application Architect to lead the application architecture strategy within a complex enterprise environment. In this role, you will define application roadmaps, establish architecture standards, oversee application portfolio management, and ensure alignment between business objectives and technology solutions.
Working closely with business stakeholders, technical teams, and architecture communities, you will drive application modernisation, governance, integration, and long-term technology planning. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys operating at both strategic and technical levels and can influence senior stakeholders while supporting delivery teams. Responsibilities:
- Lead the application architecture strategy, defining the vision and roadmap for application solutions across a major business area.
- Oversee application portfolio management activities, including application rationalisation, lifecycle management, and obsolescence planning.
- Design and maintain application architecture blueprints aligned to business goals and enterprise standards.
- Collaborate with business and technical owners to create coherent application roadmaps and investment plans.
- Ensure application information is maintained accurately within configuration and asset management repositories.
- Define and enforce integration standards to ensure effective communication between applications, platforms, and services.
- Evaluate emerging technologies, frameworks, and tools, providing recommendations to support future business requirements.
- Provide architectural governance, risk management, and guidance throughout the solution lifecycle to ensure security, performance, and compliance requirements are met.
- Support, mentor, and develop technical teams on architecture principles and best practices.
- Monitor industry trends and technology developments to drive continuous improvement and innovation.
