Join us as a Technical Services Platform Engineer at Peregrine Resourcing. Hybrid working (3 days on-site attendance).

The Role: The Technical Services Platform Engineer will be a core team member of the Technical Services Product team. The team will implement, manage and enhance a highly secure, state of the art digital solutions for engineers and software developers. Working alongside other Network, Security and Platform Engineers, the engineer builds, deploys, administers, supports and maintains solutions within a highly regulated industry.

The Technical Services Platform Engineer must understand architecture, design, delivery, operation and control of IT infrastructure including hardware, operating systems and data storage, within wide and local area networks. As a Platform Engineer in a highly regulated environment, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining a secure and scalable hosting environment for engineering and software development environments. This includes:

  • Building and management of systems and components in physical and virtualised computing environments
  • Monitoring of performance of systems and services in relation to their contribution to business performance, their security and their sustainability
  • Preparation for new or changed services, operation of the change process including governance
  • Maintenance of regulatory, legal and professional standards

We are looking for candidates with 3+ years of relevant experience in Platform Engineering, or a related field, with demonstrable hands-on expertise with Cloud Services, Windows Server / Desktop, Redhat Linux (RHEL) Server, Kubernetes Administration/Development and DevOps CI/CD tooling.

Responsibilities:

  • Implement, maintain and enhance the infrastructure hosting for engineering and software development workloads.
  • Ensure high availability and performance of hosted solutions
  • Carry out virtual and physical infrastructure/network/storage builds and rebuilds
  • Assist in the preparation of detailed technical delivery plans
  • Maintain detailed design documentation and knowledge management for operational transparency
  • Contribute to the design and integration of new solutions to meet evolving business needs
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement improvements and expansions
  • Comply with Governance and change control policies
