Join us as a Network Engineer for our client. The Network Engineer is responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, and support of the organization’s networking infrastructure. The role requires a strong technical background in network technologies and protocols, as well as the ability to diagnose and resolve network failures and recurring issues. The engineer will ensure high levels of network availability, performance, and security to meet the business's operational requirements.

Network Configuration & Deployment

  • Perform network equipment upgrades, firmware updates, and patches.
  • Implement and document network configurations, VLANs, and routing protocols.
  • Assist in provisioning new network circuits and services.
  • Diagnose, analyse, and resolve network failures and recurring issues in LAN, WAN, and wireless environments.
  • Respond to network-related incidents and service tickets within agreed SLAs.
  • Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) for network outages and implement permanent fixes.
  • Use network monitoring and diagnostic tools (e.g., Wireshark, SolarWinds, PRTG) to proactively detect and resolve performance bottlenecks.
  • Monitor network performance and implement changes to improve speed, reliability, and security.
  • Manage network inventory, including IP address allocation and hardware/software assets.
  • Regularly review and update network documentation, diagrams, and configurations.
  • Support preventive maintenance schedules to reduce downtime and ensure optimal performance.
  • Work closely with infrastructure, security, and application teams to support cross-functional IT projects.
  • Provide network expertise in IT change management and business continuity planning.
  • Offer technical support and mentoring to junior staff as needed.
  • Enforce network security policies, including access controls, firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection systems.
  • Support compliance with regulatory and internal security requirements.
  • Hands-on experience with Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet, or equivalent networking equipment.
  • Proficiency in managing firewalls, load balancers, and wireless networks.
  • Familiarity with cloud networking (AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus.
  • Experience with F5 LTM (Local Traffic Manager).
