Working within a 24/7 operational environment, you'll lead incident response activities, investigate technical issues, and help ensure the resilience and performance of services relied upon by millions of consumers and industry participants across Great Britain. How you will contribute to transforming the smart energy network and shaping the future:
- Monitor the DCC network, services and smart meter communications, proactively identifying and investigating issues to maintain service availability and performance.
- Act as a key escalation point for incidents and major incidents, driving resolution activities and coordinating stakeholders during service disruptions.
- Troubleshoot technical issues using monitoring and diagnostic tools, working closely with suppliers, customers and internal teams to restore service quickly and effectively.
- Analyse operational data, trends and service metrics to identify emerging risks, recurring issues and opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Support operational resilience through effective shift working, comprehensive handovers, accurate documentation and adherence to ITIL-aligned processes.
What you need to bring:
- Proven experience in a Network Operations Centre (NOC), telecommunications, IT infrastructure, or similar operational environment.
- Strong incident management and incident response experience, including the ability to remain calm and effective during major incidents.
- Technical troubleshooting skills with the ability to investigate complex operational and service issues.
- Experience working with ITSM tools, ideally ServiceNow, alongside a solid understanding of service management processes.
- Flexibility to work a 24/7 shift rota including day and night shifts, weekends and additional cover where operational requirements demand.
