The Project Planner will support the successful delivery of ESMCP by developing, maintaining, and assuring high-quality, integrated project schedules. The role includes analysing plans to identify critical paths, monitoring progress, and providing planning insight to support effective decision-making and delivery against key milestones.
Working across multiple projects and workstreams, the role will produce planning data for governance, facilitate stakeholder engagement, maintain planning tools, and ensure alignment with programme standards. The Project Planner will also support risk, issue, and dependency management, drive planning quality, and contribute to continuous improvement of programme planning practices.
Key Outcome & Deliverables:
- Developing and maintaining multiple project plans
- Analysing their project plans to identify critical path and drive insights into delivery performance and planning improvements
- Produce planning data / management information for the regular Programme governance forums
- Identifying and coordinating changes to plan and assisting with obtaining approval via governance.
Essentials:
- Proven experience as a Project Planner in a complex delivery environment
- Extensive experience and competence in using Microsoft Project
- Ability to identify and manage dependencies, risks, and scheduling conflicts
Desirable skills/specialist skills and/or knowledge:
- Experience in large-scale transformation, communications or government programmes
