The successful candidate will sit within the Commercial Finance team and work closely alongside the existing Finance Business Partner. The wider Commercial Finance function consists of approximately 10 colleagues.
This position combines traditional management accounting responsibilities with commercial finance partnering and stakeholder engagement.
Key responsibilities include:
- Month-end activities, including journals, P&L review and management accounting processes
- Financial reporting for both business stakeholders and internal finance teams
- Supporting annual and five-year planning cycles
- Engagement with external stakeholders, including Ofgem, around cost validation and assumptions
- Supporting contract and supplier management teams
- Reviewing, challenging and validating financial models and assumptions
- Acting as a critical friend to stakeholders, providing commercial challenge and insight
Essential Criteria
- Fully qualified accountant (CIMA, ACA, ACCA or equivalent)
- Strong management accounting background
- Commercial mindset with the ability to challenge assumptions and interpret cost drivers
- Confident stakeholder manager who enjoys building relationships across the business
- Curious, inquisitive and willing to learn the operational and contractual drivers behind financial performance
Desirable
- Experience within telecommunications or another regulated environment
- Exposure to contract management, supplier management or large-scale cost modelling
