The Project Manager will lead and deliver construction projects using a Design & Build (D&B) contract, ensuring they meet client requirements, budget, and schedule. Responsibilities include managing the full project lifecycle from concept design through construction and handover. The role requires coordinating multidisciplinary teams, overseeing design development, procurement, and site operations, and ensuring compliance with health, safety, security, Government sustainability targets and quality standards. The Project Manager will monitor progress, manage risks, control costs, and maintain strong stakeholder relationships.

  • Contract Administration: Deep understanding of Design & Build contract terms (e.g., NEC, JCT). Ability to manage variations, claims, and compliance.

    • Design Principles: Familiarity with architectural and engineering design processes. Ability to review drawings and ensure constructability.
    • Construction Techniques: Understanding of site operations, sequencing, and health & safety regulations.
    • Regulatory Compliance: Knowledge of building codes, planning permissions, and sustainability standards.
    • Procurement Strategies: Understanding supply chain management and subcontractor coordination.
  • Experience:
    • Previous Design & Build Projects: Hands-on experience managing integrated design and construction phases.
    • Stakeholder Management: Proven track record of handling clients, consultants, and contractors.
    • Problem-Solving Under Pressure: Experience resolving design conflicts and site issues quickly.

    • Business Case Development: Knowledge of Cabinet Office Construction Playbook.
