Requirements

  • 2-4 years of experience as a Data Scientist, Machine Learning Engineer, or Quantitative Analyst.
  • Exposure to recommendation algorithms, NLP, or People Analytics is a strong plus.
  • Strong Python skills, including experience with scikit-learn, Sci Py, and statsmodels.
  • Experience with NLP frameworks such as spa Cy, Hugging Face, or text embeddings is highly valued.
  • Solid foundation in applied statistics, including clustering, predictive modeling, regression, and algorithmic fairness evaluations.
  • Ability to explain algorithm performance visually using tools such as Plotly and Seaborn.
  • Ability to present model logic clearly and transparently to senior management.

Responsibilities

  • Design and tune semantic matching algorithms, recommendation engines, or NLP models to map employee skills profiles against job descriptions and vacancies.
  • Build predictive optimization models that use employee skills, geographic data, and building costs to calculate the most cost-effective location strategy.
  • Ensure statistical rigor by handling data imbalances, controlling for historical bias in performance reviews, and reducing false positives in skills matching.
  • Work with the Data Analyst to review model metrics, track algorithmic prediction drift, and safely surface model confidence scores to executive decision-makers.
  • Develop a proprietary Skills Matching Index to match at‑risk or unallocated employees with live vacancies and long‑term skills gaps across the global bank.
