The Opportunity
We’re working with a large, highly regulated organisation undergoing significant digital transformation within its Digital Workplace environment. They are looking for an experienced Application Packaging Engineer (SC Cleared) to join a specialist team responsible for packaging, deploying, and managing enterprise applications used across the organisation. This is a hands-on technical role offering exposure to large-scale environments, modern workplace technologies, and complex application estates.
Key Responsibilities
- Create, update, and maintain application packages across the full lifecycle
- Deliver applications using a variety of deployment technologies
- Manage application deployment, upgrades, retention, and decommissioning
- Troubleshoot installation and runtime issues in live environments
- Balance live service support with project-based delivery
- Provide out-of-hours on-call support on a rota basis
- Produce clear user and technical documentation
- Work closely with application owners and stakeholders during discovery
- Adhere to ITIL-aligned service processes
- Support wider Digital Workplace and technology initiatives
- Provide guidance or training to other technical teams where required
Essential Skills & Experience
- Strong application packaging experience (MSI)
- App-V 4.6 and App-V 5 application packaging
- SCCM / MECM application creation and distribution
- Intune application delivery and support
- Citrix application publishing and troubleshooting
- Strong scripting skills (PowerShell, VBS)
- Application discovery and stakeholder engagement
