We are looking for a Doors Technical Engineer to join our KONE Doors Technical team. In this role, you’ll be the go-to expert for resolving complex technical issues on industrial and pedestrian doors, providing support to Doors engineers across the UK, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. This position is based in Nottingham; you will be part of the Global Technical Help Desk team.

Responsibilities

  • Provide remote and on-site technical support to Doors engineers, identifying root causes and solutions.
  • Log cases to the Technical Helpdesk tool and direct to relevant expert when needed.
  • Deliver training to Doors engineers during site visits and through scheduled sessions, support local training centers.
  • Support in assessing the maintainability (spare part availability, documentation, competences, maintenance need) of equipment before tendering for maintenance contract.
  • Create and manage knowledge base articles.
  • Propose sales solutions (Packaged Service Repairs) to improve equipment reliability, comfort and safety.
  • Identify proactively root causes for the issues and forward corrective actions according to KONE Door Business (KDB) process requirements (e.g. training, guidelines, etc.).
  • Ensure compliance with KDB safety standards and customer safety rules, report safety concerns.
  • Stop installation or door operations if safety violation or hazards are detected.

Qualifications

  • Strong technical knowledge of pedestrian and industrial doors, gates and barriers.
  • Excellent health and safety knowledge.
  • ADSA and DHF qualified.
  • CSCS certification.
  • Strong customer skills.
  • Collaborative team player.
  • Excellent problem solving and communication skills.
  • Full, clean UK driving licence.
  • Willingness to travel across the UK.
  • Proficient IT skills.
