KONE has an excellent opportunity for a Lift Tester to join our New Equipment and Modernisation team on a full-time basis. This role covers the North East, with occasional travel to other areas as required.
Key Accountabilities
- Test lift units in accordance with the relevant test documents and KONE standard interpretation of EN81, Lift Directive and Essential Health & Safety Requirements.
- Test lifts within timescales set.
- Commission equipment following agreed specifications and commissioning instructions.
- Conduct technical assessments, identify faults, and record abnormalities for corrective action.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues efficiently.
- Carry out final inspection and sign the Final inspection document.
- Liaise with relevant site personnel to ascertain state of lift.
- Manage on-site communication with the customer for day-to-day testing and commissioning activities with continuous coordination with Supervisor.
- Participate in meetings and workgroups related to quality and technical matters.
- Ensure lift well security (safe for other trades and public etc) and safety of all persons involved in the installation activities during commissioning and testing of the lift.
- Report lift condition and progress to the Supervisor responsible for site activities.
Qualifications And Previous Experience
- NVQ4 in Lift engineering or equivalent qualification, module TLE4/005 Performing Testing Operations on Existing/Modernised Equipment is desirable.
- Willingness to complete the NVQ4 Mods module if not already achieved.
- Previous experience as a Lift Tester is desirable.
- Good computer literacy.
- Good written and spoken English.
- Clear UK driving licence.
