The Percy Hedley Foundation is one of the largest regional charities supporting people with a range of learning and physical needs. We have five sites providing specialist education, adult day services, residential care and independent supported living to our service users. Our sites are based in Forest Hall, Killingworth, Jesmond, Newcastle City Centre and North Shields. We are looking for a compassionate, experienced Occupational Therapist looking to make a meaningful difference in the lives of young adults with learning and physical disabilities. You will join our multidisciplinary therapy team and work closely with education staff, families, and external healthcare professionals to ensure a holistic and person-centred approach to student care.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality, student-focused occupational therapy assessments and interventions.
- Support students with a range of physical, sensory, and learning needs.
- Promote engagement in education and daily living activities.
- Develop individualised therapy programmes and contribute to EHCP reviews.
- Collaborate with teaching and support staff to embed therapeutic strategies into everyday routines.
- Supervise and mentor others within the team.

- HCPC-registered Occupational Therapist
- Experience working with young people with learning and physical disabilities, autism, and/or behaviours that challenge
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- A creative, student-led approach to therapy
- Passion for supporting young adults to live more independent and fulfilling lives
