Hedley’s College is a high‑quality specialist further education and training provider. We provide education and training for young people aged 16‑25 with a range of learning difficulties and disabilities who require specialist individual programmes to develop their communication, independence and employability skills. We help our learners make successful transitions into adulthood within the Northeast region.

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Band 5 or Band 6 Speech and Language Therapist within our multi‑disciplinary Therapy team. Speech and Language Therapists at Hedley’s College play a vital role in supporting students and their families with specialist interventions such as both high‑tech and low‑tech AAC, signing systems and other expressive and receptive communication methods. The successful candidate would provide input to a caseload of students with complex speech, language and communication needs as well as possible dysphagia needs. You would become part of an existing, dedicated team of therapists who strive to deliver best practice at all times, and there are opportunities to shape a service to meet the ever‑changing needs of those we support. This is a temporary, term‑time only post covering maternity leave.
