The Role
We are looking to appoint an Assistant Cook to assist the Chef Supervisor in the day‑to‑day preparation of food and efficient running of the kitchen. The successful candidate will prepare, cook and present food to Foundation standards under the direction of the Chef Supervisor. The role also involves supervising and instructing staff and trainees allocated to kitchen duties by the Chef Supervisor. A current Food Hygiene qualification is essential.
This is a term‑time only, part‑time role of 20 hours per week Monday–Friday, based in Hedley’s College in Killingworth.
Qualifications & Experience
- A current Food Hygiene qualification.
- Experience in a kitchen environment and ability to follow food preparation standards.
- Ability to supervise and train kitchen staff.

Salary will be quoted from 1 September to 31 August; commencement part-way through the academic year will be subject to an equated salary adjustment.
