We are seeking a detail-oriented Aerospace Production Operative to join our busy Production team at Percival Aviation. This role is suited to someone with a practical mindset, strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work within a regulated aerospace manufacturing environment.
Based at our site in Fareham, Hampshire the successful candidate will primarily operate our state-of-the-art fabric and leather CNC cutting machine and UV printer, working from electronic files created by the Design team. When required, the role will also involve producing high-quality aerospace components in line with technical drawings and specifications, using a variety of materials including foam, fabric, leather and composites.
Key Responsibilities:
- Interpret and work from technical drawings, electronic files, specifications and production orders to accurately cut, print and kit aerospace materials.
- Operate CNC cutting machinery, UV printing equipment and associated production tools safely and effectively.
- Cut, prepare and assemble materials including foam, fabric, leather and composites to the required quality standards.
- Carry out basic machine checks, routine maintenance and housekeeping to support smooth production flow.
- Work closely with Design, Production and Quality team members to meet production schedules and customer requirements.
- Identify and communicate opportunities to improve efficiency, safety and product quality.
- Maintain accurate records of materials used, processes completed and work carried out.
- Follow all company procedures, health and safety requirements and quality standards.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Experience operating CNC-type machinery is desirable, although full training will be provided.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment is preferred, ideally within aerospace or another regulated industry.
- Confident using hand tools, production machinery and computer-based production files.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, work instructions and specifications.
- Excellent attention to detail, accuracy and problem-solving skills.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team in a busy production setting.
- Strong communication skills and a proactive, reliable approach to work.
