What are we looking for?
We are seeking a proactive and experienced individual to join our growing Analytics function. The successful candidate will be responsible for performance analysis, commercial frameworks, testing roadmap and MI and insight production for collections strategies across our group businesses, with a focus on our contingent strategies. You will ensure that the business has control and oversight of collections strategies as well as proactively identifying opportunities and working cross-functionally to turn your insight into impact.
So, what will your day-to-day look like?
- Analysis and Insight: Lead your own and the team’s analysis into current processes and strategy with a focus on performance. Identify and effectively communicate the opportunities to improve.
- Collections Strategy: Propose customer-centric and cost-effective strategies, using a combination of experience and deep data insight. Work cross-functionally to refine, gain buy-in and deploy these strategies.
- Scoring and segmentation: Build customer segmentation, leveraging and influencing the output of our Decision Science team. Comfortable optimising for commercial and customer outcomes and building testing frameworks.
- MI and Reporting: Use SQL and Power BI to build your own reports, guiding strategic decision making. Comfortable working with stakeholders to refine requirements and independently leverage our own insight.
- Team Development: Play an active part in your and team-member development by sharing experience and cross skilling across technologies, processes and business areas.
- Change Management: Support the Head of Analytics in prioritising and planning for large change work, building relationships with technical and delivery teams.
- Governance: Preparing and delivering input into monthly governance meetings around strategy performance, sharing the impact of your work up to Exec level.
- Client Facing: Support the Head of Analytics in communicating our Analytics proposition and strategy performance to new and existing clients.
Does this sound like you?
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role within the debt purchase, recovery, or financial services industry.
- Strong data analysis and reporting skills (SQL + visualising tool e.g. PowerBI, Looker etc.) with the ability to drive insight from complex and disparate datasets.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to distil complex concepts into clear recommendations and influence action at all levels.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines and maintaining quality standards.
- High level of attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in your work and helping junior colleagues do the same.
- Ability to identify and resolve issues swiftly and professionally, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders, including operations, legal, and compliance teams.
- Good understanding of operational processes in a Financial Services or similar environment e.g. automated dialling, capacity planning, complaints handling etc.
- Comfortable in a high-growth environment, managing competing priorities effectively.
- Experience with working in the debt purchase and recovery sector, specifically with building and enhancing collections strategy processes through quantitative insight (desirable).
- Leading workstreams that touch multiple stakeholders and effectively managing those relationships (desirable).
The Application Timeline
A first stage video call with the internal talent acquisition team (15-minute call). An introductory call with the hiring manager over Teams (15 - 30 minutes). A face to face or video call with the hiring manager (45 minutes - 60 minutes). Typically, the average successful applicant will be within this timeline for 2-3 weeks. - This role is hybrid between our Blackpool and Manchester Spinningfields office - the latter a premium workspace located in the heart of Manchester’s commercial hub with regular social events planned.
