Perch Capital, the investment arm within Perch Group, now one of the fastest growing (and PE backed) Debt Purchasers in the UK that specialises in the purchase of alternative finance non‑performing loans, overseeing the financial well‑being of over a million customers and assets exceeding £1 billion.
The investment team within Perch Group is primarily responsible for analysing and pricing potential investments and engaging with external clients across the financial sector to acquire portfolios of predominantly consumer debts in the UK.

In this new role, the successful candidate will be joining a dynamic and fast‐paced team, with exposure to board level executives and external stakeholders on a regular basis. Responsibilities
🗓 So, what will your day‑to‑day look like?
You will work as part of the Investment Director’s team, supporting the Investment Managers and Senior Investment Analysts across several areas including but not limited to:
- 70% Supporting / Leading the portfolio acquisition process, including:
- In depth analysis of potential portfolio acquisitions, including understanding and applying the team’s propriety Markov Chain Monte Carlo simulation model and presenting findings to Senior Management.
- Conducting on‑site and remote due diligence on portfolio acquisition opportunities and supporting the regulatory and risk review of potential purchases.
- 5% Engaging with clients and financial institutions to understand and obtain the required data to support each portfolio’s valuation.
- 5% Supporting cross‑departmental projects with Analytics and Decision Science teams to develop new and existing cashflow forecasting tools using statistical modelling (Python, Excel, and SQL experience a distinct advantage).
- 5% Working with operational/implementation departments to support and execute portfolio migration plans at the point of sale.
- 5% Reviewing, analysing and supporting the monitoring of portfolio performance post‑acquisition vs expectation and presenting findings to the Investment team.
These percentages give an approximate indication as to time allocation for a typical week and may vary on a day‑to‑day basis.
Qualifications
- Strong academic background within a quantitative discipline, e.g. STEM fields, Economics, Finance.
- Up to 1‑2 years’ relevant work experience.
- Comfortable working with large data sets, identifying and presenting key insights.
- A high degree of attention to detail with the ability to consolidate and interpret complex information from multiple sources.
- Strong MS Office Excel skills, experience with Python/SQL would be advantageous.
- A self‑motivated individual capable of using own initiative to drive improvements in business processes.
- Ambitious, driven individual with a strong desire to pursue a career within investment management & or corporate finance.

- A face‑to‑face or video call with the hiring manager (45‑60 minutes).

Benefits
💵 £35,000 ‑ £45,000 DOE + up to 20% of your annual salary, paid as a bonus.
📍 This role is based at our Manchester Spinningfields office – a premium workspace located in the heart of Manchester’s commercial hub with regular social events planned. Oh, and did we mention the free coffee bar and beer tap?
🕰 37.5 hours per week. We offer flexible and hybrid working between our core hours of 8am‑6pm, Monday to Friday.
