About the role: As Solution Architect, Medical Imaging, you'll define and govern the end-to-end architecture for medical imaging solutions across the product landscape. Working remotely in the UK, your brief will be to ensure that applications, domains, and platform services integrate coherently to deliver scalable, reliable and compliant imaging workflows which support global clinical trials.
Key Responsibilities:
- Technical Requirements Definition & Management: Own product-level translation of functional and non-functional requirements across domains; Define and align NFRs (availability, scalability, resilience, security, privacy) for the product/portfolio; Harmonize cross-domain requirements; resolve conflicts and drive consistent interpretation; Coordinate constraints and dependencies with Platform, Data, Security, QA/RA, and Clinical stakeholders.
- Cloud-Native SaaS Architecture Design: Define product-wide cloud topology and regional deployment strategy; Approve major service choices, integration patterns, and data-plane/compute strategies; Drive security-by-design and zero-trust posture across the product line.
- AI-Driven Medical Imaging Platform Development: Align AI services and capabilities across the product line to avoid duplication; Define experimentation and rollout patterns (shadow, A/B, canary) with rollback strategies.
- Medical Image Viewer Integration & Workflow Design: Unify viewer workflows and UX patterns across the product line; Validate third-party viewer fit, vendor selection criteria, and compliance implications.
- Regulatory Compliance & Security Architecture: Own product/portfolio compliance posture and validation approach; Align with InfoSec on secure-by-design patterns and zero-trust controls.
- Database & Data Architecture for Medical Imaging: Define product data topology and cross-domain ownership; Plan replication/DR, cost, and performance for data platforms.
- Performance Optimization & Monitoring: Own product/portfolio observability strategy and standards; Plan capacity and cost for peak clinical workloads across domains.
- Technical Leadership: Chair product architecture reviews and communities of practice; Align engineering leaders on roadmap, sequencing, and technical runway.
- Innovation: Drive product/portfolio innovation themes and roadmaps; Build partnerships with vendors/start-ups for pilots and evaluations.
Functional Competencies (Technical Knowledge/Skills): Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills; A flexible attitude with respect to work assignments and new learning; Ability to manage multiple and varied tasks with enthusiasm and prioritise workload with attention to detail.
Experience, Education and Certifications: Demonstrable experience in technical delivery with a proven record in undertaking design and architecture activities; Solution/Enterprise design experience essential - relevant qualification (e.g. TOGAF) desirable; Bachelor's Degree in a technical discipline (Maths, Science, Engineering, Computing, etc.) or a related study, or equivalent project-related experience.
