About the job

As Raw Materials Analyst, you’ll form part of the Quality Control team providing vital support to our state-of-the-art clinical trial imaging clinic based at Hammersmith Hospital in West London.

Supporting the Senior Analyst, you’ll be involved in a broad range of activities relating to the management of raw materials, as well as assisting scientific colleagues with routine laboratory tasks. Your workload will be varied but your focus will remain firmly upon ensuring ongoing GMP compliance within the QC Raw Materials department and throughout the laboratory.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing all aspects of raw materials onsite, including ordering, receipt, Quality Control (QC) testing, inventory checks and disposal
  • Managing raw material release documentation, including temporary filing on-site and preparation for archiving.
  • Managing suppliers, communicating delivery timelines to respective departments.
  • Helping to maintain the Quality Management System (QMS) and supporting compliance activities, including:
  • Authoring documentation required to support raw material management, e.g. Raw Material Specifications, technical reports, equipment related SOPs, risk assessments, etc
  • Performing investigations for Out of Specification (OOS) results on raw material QC testing and support identification and implementation of CAPA (Corrective and Preventative Action).
  • Maintaining analytical equipment for routine use and for completing preventative maintenance in conjunction with the Facilities Management Team.
  • Managing facility monitoring in raw materials areas.
  • Coordinating and participating in laboratory support activities as part of operations, including:
  • Glassware cleaning and storage
  • Laboratories waste management
  • Liquid nitrogen delivery at point of use across laboratories
  • Performance checks and preventative maintenance for laboratory instruments (e.g. balances, water purifiers, pH meters, fridges/freezers).

Functional Competencies (Technical knowledge/Skills)

  • Good understanding of GMP regulations and requirements with practical laboratory experience – ideally working with raw materials – gained in a GMP pharmaceutical (or related) environment or
  • Computer literate with proficiency in the MS Office suite and competent in the use of industry-level database systems and analytical software.
  • Good safety awareness.
  • Experience of HPLC and NMR techniques is desirable
