The main analytical techniques you will use are High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) and Solid Phase Extraction (SPE). You will also support general laboratory maintenance on an ad-hoc basis such as equipment calibration, ordering stocks and updating SOPs.This is an excellent entry-level role for a graduate with a relevant science related degree and demonstrable ability to develop analytical chemistry methods. We will also consider individuals who have already gained foundational experience in a similar role.# **Key Responsibilities****Analysis of Biological samples*** Running of HPLC and SPE methods in a timely fashion on blood samples during PET scanning.* Supporting, maintaining and complying with relevant regulations as applied to the Bioanalysis Laboratories (e.g. GCLP requirements, EH&S regulations).* Identifying atypical results using basic problem-solving techniques.* Supporting training and monitoring of junior staff in the lab when needed.**Equipment Maintenance*** Maintaining analytical equipment in good functional order and liaising with manufacturers and/or the Lab Support team as needed.* Operating and maintaining other laboratory equipment.**Method Development*** Developing and supporting new, or improvement of existing, metabolite analysis methods for PET radiopharmaceuticals.* Effectively assessing method parameters to achieve the desired robust method.**Laboratory Maintenance*** Responsible for daily activities and ensuring that everything is ready in advance for the upcoming scan analysis.* Responsible for the orders and monitoring stock as needed.**Supporting Other Departments*** Where appropriate and as deemed required by the Bioanalysis Manager, supporting analytical chemistry functions in other departments for PET radiopharmaceuticals that do not require metabolite analysis such as Production and Quality Control (QC).**Functional Competencies (Technical knowledge/Skills)*** Demonstrable ability to develop analytical chemistry methods.* A flexible attitude with respect to work assignments and new learning.* Ability to manage multiple and varied tasks with enthusiasm and prioritize workload with attention to detail.* Able to work methodically in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment.**Experience, Education and Certifications*** A bachelors\’ degree in a science-related discipline (Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biomedical Science, etc.).* Understanding of the operation of basic laboratory equipment: balances, centrifuges and pipettes.* Good knowledge of High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) methodologies.* Good understanding of metabolic pathways and/or pharmacological principles preferred.* English: fluentAt Perceptive, we enable the world’s pharmaceutical, biotech, and clinical research organizations to rapidly discover and advance life-changing treatments.Together, our global team delivers unmatched scientific and technological expertise, global operational experience, and end-to-end solutions to help the global research community realize tomorrow’s new therapies.
