We are working with a pioneering global private equity fund focused on the food value chain. It invests in the lower mid-market and works closely with its portfolio to guide them through rapid yet sustainable growth. It wants its businesses to become clear industry leaders, and provides patient capital, deep industry expertise and hands-on assistance to achieve outsized returns for all stakeholders. It is looking to add a high-calibre Senior Associate to join its dynamic and lean, hands-on team in London.
The candidate will lead day-to-day tasks associated with business development, origination and investment execution and will work closely with the firm’s partners on a global basis. The role gives the successful candidate exposure to origination, execution and exit making this a varied role.
What the job involves:- Deal origination and building relationships with potential targets
- Development of investment themes and market research to identify relevant investment opportunities
- Hands-on involvement in transaction execution including all due diligence workstreams
- Assist and/or lead in the preparation of models and/or investment files to be submitted to partners, the investment committee, portfolio companies, or external parties
- Supporting the investment committee on decision making
- Regular travel to the EU and USA
- Experience in strategy consulting in the private equity team, experience in mid-market investment banking or experience in private equity
- Ability to adapt and learn new sectors and markets rapidly
- Strong problem solving and analytical capabilities
- Compelling written and oral communication skills and fluency in English
- Excellent business judgment
- Entrepreneurial and a self-starter, willing to get involved throughout the entire deal process and interact with management teams
- Bachelor’s degree from a top university
