We have partnered with a leading mid-market private equity investor seeking a Manager to lead portfolio monitoring and valuations. This is a growth hire and the first dedicated position within the portfolio function, offering a unique opportunity to shape and develop this critical area of the business.
What The Job Involves
- Lead quarterly portfolio valuations, taking ownership of waterfall calculations and ensuring alignment with portfolio company capital structures.
- Oversee and present key financial reports on debt maturities, hedging positions, covenant projections, and liquidity, providing actionable insights to senior management.
- Manage a centralized equity capitalisation record for each portfolio company, ensuring legal documentation and share registers are accurate and fully reconciled.
- Drive comparable company analyses each quarter, integrating relevant deal activity to support investment insights.
- Design and implement standardised financial data processes across the portfolio, improving efficiency and consistency of reporting.
- Support strategic initiatives and collaborate with portfolio finance teams and deal teams to validate and harmonise financial information, ensuring reliability for decision-making.
- Serve as a trusted partner for portfolio company finance teams, facilitating timely and accurate data collection.
- Work closely with Investor Relations and Fund Reporting to deliver precise and insightful quarterly reports, investor presentations, and responses to investor inquiries.
- Maintain and update fund models supporting strategic performance tracking.
- Provide deal team support on key transactions.
Who we are looking for
- Educational background in finance, accounting, economics, or a related discipline.
- Proven experience in valuations, corporate finance, or a closely related field.
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or equivalent) preferred, but not essential.
- Strong financial acumen with advanced skills in analysis, data management, and reporting.
- Experience collaborating with senior executives and presenting insights to leadership teams.
- Proactive self-starter with the ability to drive change, enhance processes, and implement best practices.
- Familiarity with private equity fund structures, capital structures, and financing is highly desirable.
