About our client
We are working with Aramco Ventures who are seeking a high caliber Investment Analyst to join the team in London. There is significant capital to deploy with $7bn AUM to invest globally across a variety of technologies, focusing predominantly on sustainability, digital, and industrial verticals. Partnered with one of the world’s leading energy and chemicals company, the fund has unique access and a competitive advantage to invest in the world’s leading startups and scale ups. The London team take the lead on EU deals, with initial investments typically at Series A and B although their mandate affords significantly more flexibility than others in the ecosystem.
This is an phenomenal opportunity for someone with an interest in technology to join a highly capitalized, and active, investor. You will join a lean investment team, giving you great exposure and ability to take on responsibility early on. They are looking for a highly independent and motivated individual with a passion for technology and the VC space.
What the job involves
- Deal Origination: Build relationships with entrepreneurs and co-investors in your focus geography
- Systematically and proactively identify potential investment opportunities
- Track and push forward the deal flow generated by the team
- Deal Execution: Drive due diligence processes and critically evaluate management teams, market opportunities, as well as technical and financial aspects of investment opportunities
- Analyse complex capital structures, value start-ups, build financial models to forecast investment returns, and compile and present investment memos to the investment committee
- Support deal execution including oversight of legal matters
- Portfolio Management: Support the senior team with their board governance tasks and help monitor operating milestones in the investment portfolio as well as performance vs. expectations
Who we are looking for
- A scientific/engineering academic background from a leading institution is required
- Rigorous financial training with a strong understanding of P&L, balance sheets and cash flow
- Full time work experience in finance, whether from investment banking, accountancy firms, or from a corporate
- Strong analytical skills and commercial mindset
- Intellectually curious and have good interpersonal skills to build meaningful relationships
- Good at working to a high standard to deadlines
- Able to act and think independently
